The University of Chicago's Jazz X-tet is one of the greatest college jazz ensembles in the city of Chicago. This video features tenor saxophonist Dave Grilly soloing on a composition created by the X-tet's music director Mwata Bowden. This concert marked the grand finale of a week long symposium on the free jazz movement and celebrated the 35th anniversary of the founding of Chicago's AACM (Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians).
